The FCC has approved Kovas Communications' application to surrender the license of WMCW-1600 Harvard, Ill. and increase the power of co-owned WONX Evanston to 7,000 watts. Two other Kovas stations received permission to change frequency and move to new locations to open space for WONX's increase. But WMCW was the only station licensed to Harvard, and FCC policy prohibited them from moving.
(other stations involved:
WCGO-1600 Chicago Heights: moving to 1020 in Jemison, Michigan.
WKKD-1580 Aurora: moving to Silvis, near the Quad Cities.)
