Did this have anything to do with the power boost at WWRC-AM in Washington, DC?
Yes, it did..WWRC's permit was contingent on WNWK agreeing to surrender its license. Also, WKDL-1250 (Warrenton, Virginia) was required to reduce daytime power from 7.9kw to 3kw.WNWK was already operating well below normal parameters. They'd lost their transmitter site and had been operating at 250 watts day (10 watts night) non-directional from an alternate site.
