AM station granted frequency change

Windsor, Ontario: 1550KHz:
CBEF granted move from 540.

This station on Radio-Canada's French-language Premiere Chaine network requires expensive repairs to the towers for its 540KHz transmission facility.

They've decided to instead use the silent facility on 1550KHz previously used by English-language station CBE. (CBE moved to 97.5 FM last year) The 1550 site is in better condition.

The 1550 facility is 10,000 watts directional, same pattern day & night, at 42-12-56N/82-55-15W. It will not adequately cover the city of Sarnia (which 540KHz does) so an FM transmitter on 98.3 with about 2,300 watts power will be installed there.
