Language switch proposed for AM station

Montreal, Quebec: 690KHz:
CKGM proposes switch from English to French.

CKGM-990, an English-language all-sports station, recently received approval to move to the better 690KHz frequency.

The station, not yet on 690, now requests permission to operate as a French-language station under the slogan "RDS Radio".  (RDS is a French-language cable TV sports network in Canada)

Such a move requires regulatory approval in Canada; it is by no means certain this approval will be granted.

AM station going away (Canada)

Will probably use the old CHSC facilities at 43-03-23N/79-13-21W; if I recall properly this facility was directional day & night with different patterns.

Proposes a format of English "past, present and emerging artists", whatever the heck that means.

Montreal, Quebec: 600KHz:
Application for new station.
10,000 watts daytime; 5,000 watts nighttime.

Will probably use the old CFCF facilities at 45-23-34N/73-41-53W; if I recall properly this facility was directional day & night with different patterns.

To be English news/talk.
